Sammy Sosa has some attention from what many are calling his "bleached skin look" he sported in a stunning photo that reached wires this week. Despite the Michael Jackson comparisons, the athlete insists has experienced a lightening of his skin from the use of a cream that he was using for a softer feel. He will certainly have photographers and their cameras attention in Florida tonight as he is scheduled to have a 41st birthday celebration, complete with a Paulina Rubio scheduled performance, according to a report from the Miami Herald.

He has spoken out on the controversy. "It's a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some," said the former slugger during the "Primer Impacto" program at the Univision Spanish network.


The Former Major League long ball hitter for the Chicago Cubs added, "It's a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some. I'm not a racist, I live my life happily."

Birthday wishes are in order as well. According to a report from the Miami Herald, the slugger celebrating his 41st birthday (Nov. 12) with a big party at the Fontainebleau's oceanfront ballroom on Saturday the 14th.
