Scientology Leader Wife Located by LAPD - Leah Remini Inquired About Shelly Miscavige
Scientology leader David Miscavige's wife was located by LAPD this week - they went looking for the woman after actress Leah Remini filed a missing person report for Michelle "Shelly" Miscavige.
The 'King of Queens' actress and her family cut ties with the controversial religion last month after years of alleged abuse for questioning David's actions, which began when she demanded to know where his wife - who hasn't been seen in public since 2007 - was during Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding in 2006.
The 43-year-old star made her concerns public by getting the police involved, according to writer Tony Ortega, whose site, The Underground Bunker, exposes the inner workings of the sci-fi sect.
According to TMZ, the case has now been closed because cops had a face-to-face meeting with Shelly.
Leah - who was born and raised within the secretive cult - is set to pen a tell-all book about her experiences and the five years of ''thought modification'' she was subjected to when she began to ask questions.
The Church of Scientology was founded by American science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.
