Should Zac Efron be worried? Vanessa Hudgens, his longtime girlfriend is going dark and appears to be headed for the "Emo" lifestyle. But Zanessa will remain strong; in fact this might just help just a bit. Hudgens has accepted a role that may broaden her appeal a bit and test her abilities as an actress.

Okay for those that don't know an "Emo" or in this case an "Emo girl" is the types you usually see at the mall in black and looking and acting depressed for mostly no good reason. The Urban dictionary has this, "Although some girls just dress in the emo style, most emo girls are sad; cry and write poetry a lot, and tend to cut their wrists. They usually hide this by wearing armbands or lots of happy colored bracelets."


Right those people. Now back to the movie, the new teenage romance is called "Will". "My look is definitely more dark than in High School Musical,” says Vanessa. “I play kind of the ‘emo, kept away from everybody else in her own world’ kinda girl. She wears a lot of black. She always has long sleeves with thumbs in them.” According to Just Jared, Vanessa adds about her costar Gaelen Connell, who plays Will, “We do have a kiss scene–a very funny, awkward kiss scene.”

And Vanessa is glad she didn’t go through the drama a normal kid would get during their teenage years: “Honestly, I never went to high school. I was home schooled all my high school years. Part of me wants to wish that I did go to high school. I’m living my high school experiences through the movies I do–all of them seem to take place in high school. But missing all the drama is not a problem with me.”


The 19-year-old High School Musical star plays Sa5m (the “five” is silent so it is just "Sam"), a teenage misfit caught up in her high-school’s battle of the bands.
