Simon Cowell Looking for American Star, wants only One Brit on the Show

Simon Cowell is targeting a "very famous actress" to judge 'The X Factor'.

The music mogul is looking for two stars to replace axed panelists Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger on the US TV talent show and while he has some people in mind, he is open to negotiate with "anyone".

Asked about speculation Britney Spears is set to join the show, Simon told 'Good Day New York': "You'll have to wait and see. I can't confirm or deny anything right now. The truth is, we are talking to a number of people. It changes on a daily basis to be honest with you.

"[We're looking at] a very famous singer and one very famous actress. You've gotta talk to everybody."

Welsh host Steve Jones was also axed from the show, and Simon - who had initially hired Nicole as co-host before she replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge - hinted he will be looking for an American star for the new series.

He said: With the host, too many Brits on the show, if I'm being honest with you. One Brit allowed.

"I always wanted a boy and a girl to host the show. And I like hosts who don't kind of have a hosting background, you know. I like them when they've done acting and stuff like that. It's a different kind of dynamic."
