The Simpsons has been renewed for a 23rd season. The still popular show continues to draw viewers and geekosystem.com counts it up, and reveals "at the end of the 2011-2012 season, it will have aired a dizzying 515 episodes."

The show has plenty of material. An episode for this season features Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.


An earlier report notes that Radcliffe provided the voice for handsome vamp Edmund, who fell in love with Lisa in the 'Tweenlight' cartoon spoof of the hit movie.

During the show:

Edmund - a mysterious new student at Lisa's school - literally swept her off her feet after arriving and promptly saving her from several near-death accidents.

This mirrors the way Robert Pattinson's character Edward did with Kristen Stewart's Bella in scenes from the first Twilight film. The animated lovebirds then flew off into the night, scaled a tall tree in a gloomy forest and sat on a branch together, where Edmund revealed his true self.

But all didn't end well for the Fox cartoon's newest couple, with Homer battling Edmund's vampire dad to keep them apart. After a showdown at 'Dracula-la Land', both father and son sunk their fangs into poor Homer's neck, draining his famous yellow skin and briefly turning him into a vampire. "Die fatso!" exclaimed Edmund, but Homer ultimately triumphed when his cholesterol-heavy blood poisoned the pair to death.
