Sister Wants 'Truth' in Natalie Wood Case Revealed - What Really Happened?
Mar 8, 2010
What really happened in the Natalie Wood drowning incident? The real life mysterious Hollywood case is drawing new attention as Natalie Wood's sister Lana Wood has called for the case in the beauty's death to be reopened. It has been nearly 30 years since the actress drowned, but the sister says it is time for another new look and she wants the "truth to come out".
The case was well-known by many that followed celebrity news in the early eighties and drew big headlines at the time of the accident.
It was a stunning celebrity crime beat tale possibility at the time, the 43-year-old was found floating off the coast of Catalina Island in California, after going missing from the yacht she was sailing on with husband Robert Wagner and actor Christopher Walken (pictured).
But police said it was no crime at all, after an investigation they said it was just a tragic accident. That had many skeptics asking - what really happened?
That is exactly what the sister now seeks answered again, nearly 30 years later. The sister notes that Wood went overboard and disappeared from the boat in November 1981 and she finds it odd as her sister had a well-known fear of drowning.
It may be an uphill battle. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office ruled Wood's death an accident - and insists the case is closed - but her sister Lana Wood believes it was never really solved. Lana says: "I just want the truth to come out, the real story."
