The Britain's Got Talent guru added that the 48-year-old's stellar rise to fame is "like a Hollywood movie" – and he's already making the documentary. Cowell opened up on US TV last night about the documentary he is making on Boyle's life.
The acid-tongued X Factor judge heaped praise on Susan Boyle, saying: "We've heard she's going to be number one in the US, which makes her the highest debut of any female artist ever, ever, ever. "She's like a great underdog story – it's like a Hollywood movie. You couldn't have written this script better."

"It's this lonely lady living in her little house in this little village in Scotland who for all her life had dreamt of becoming a star. "Nobody had ever taken her seriously and her last attempt was to come on Britain's Got Talent. She walks on, everybody laughs at her again, and then the minute she starts singing her life changes forever.
"Now it ends up with her going in at number one in America – you can't write a story like that." Simon said he hopes a documentary he is making about Boyle will transform the way the public see her. Cowell said: "It's her story so you hear it all in her words. You hear how she dealt with everything and what her life was like before you met her for the first time."
