The gals of the runaway ABC hit Desperate Housewives have started filming the second season, and a small group of journalists was invited to spend a day on the set. Secrets were uncovered and the dirt was revealed, right?

Maybe not.

The UK Telegraph:

"We're not un-friends," says Teri Hatcher carefully of her castmates as she shows visitors around the house where her character, Susan Mayer, a sweetly neurotic single mother, lives. "I mean we're not not friends."

Felicity Huffman, probably the most experienced actress on the show, who plays Lynette, a harried mother of four, adds: "What we are is colleagues. I got to know these women last year, and good friends you have for years and years. But I think we're developing friendships."

Um--okay, that will squelch the rumors.

But who-cares--the show was brilliant in its first season. Now the gals of Wisteria Lane will welcome newcomers Betty Applewhite and her son Matthew (played by Alfre Woodard and Mehcad Brooks), the ones that were briefly shown in the last episode moving in next door to Susan in last season's finale.

Can the 40-something ladies avoid a sophomore slump? I'm guessing yes.
