Michael Davis Sapir is claiming that the Mission: Impossible star, along with attorney Bert Fields and jailed private investigator Anthony Pellicano hatched a plan to spy on him when he was editor/owner of Bold magazine in court papers filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

According to a report from the NY Daily News (see here), in response to the accusations, Bert Fields told celebrity justice website TMZ.Com: "The allegations are absolute garbage. We did not even hire Pellicano to work on the Sapir case."
It is not the first time Cruise and Sapir have crossed swords in the courtroom. In 2001, Cruise sued Sapir for $113 million after Sapir said he had video tape evidence that suggested Cruise was "engaged in a homosexual relationship".

In 2009, Cruise and Sapir settled that lawsuit, with both parties issuing a statement stating that the tape didn't exist. Sapir claims that Pellicano illegally tapped his phone in 2001, at the same time the original lawsuit was pending.
In the papers, Sapir claims that Cruise, Fields and Pellicano were all working together. He is suing for a minimum of $5 million.
