Robert Pattinson's Troubled Role Has Nothing to do with Ex Girlfriend Kristen Stewart
In real life, much of Robert Pattinson's troubles might be attributed to his ex girlfriend Kristen Stewart, who cheated on him with the director of one of her movies and was caught with photos by a US tabloid.
But now Robert has an outlet away from Kristen to help him heal, and the actor reportedly is fantastic in a role for the movie 'The Rover' where his character is both ''troubled and damaged."
The 'Twilight Saga' actor stars opposite Guy Pearce in the forthcoming movie as a resident of the Australian Outback in the near future, who has fled there following a worldwide financial collapse in a bid to ''scrape out'' a living amongst criminals and ''hustlers''.
Director David Michod said: ''It's like a new gold rush. Where people from all corners of the world have come out to the desert to scrape out an existence. Petty criminals and miscreants and hustlers.''
''The basic story is really quite elemental. You've got a really dark, dangerous, murderous person in Guy's character, and in Rob's character you have a quite troubled and damaged, but beautiful and naïve, soul.''
The filmmaker also claimed the movie is ''menacing'' and much more ''authentic'' than another movie set in the Outback, 'Mad Max'.
He added to Entertainment Weekly: ''You put cars in the desert in Australia and people are going to think of Mad Max.
''And with all due respect to that film -- and I stress that -- I think The Rover is going to be way more chillingly authentic and menacing.''
'The Rover' is expected to be released later this year or in early 2014.
