Two-Buck Chuck Price Raised to $2.49 at Trader Joe's
The price of a bottle of the popular wine dubbed "Two-Buck Chuck" will increase from the $1.99 price it has been for nearly a decade to a price of $2.49 per bottle.
Two Buck Chuck (now plus four bits) is still a bargain at that price, but will increase 50 cents per bottle.
Trader Joe's had charged $1.99 for a bottle of Charles Shaw shiraz or cabernet sauvignon, but now both of this selections will increase.
According to MSNBC winemaker Bronco Wine Co. said it was "able to keep the price so low because it owns 45,000 acres of vineyard, which insulated it from large fluctuations in grape prices."
However - bad crops in 2011 and 2012 impacted the price.
