Whitney Port Staying in Touch with BFF Lauren Conrad

Jan 21, 2009

Former co-star of "The Hills," Whitney Port, tells us even though she has her own show now and is living in New York, she and Lauren Conrad remain good friends. "Lauren and I are still really close. We talk a bunch because she's gone through this. She's kind of shown me the way," says Port about taking advice for her own MTV series "The City."

Of course, Port also tries to still be there for Conrad, who always seems to find herself surrounded by drama. "I just try to be a good listener and give her as much advice as I can. It's kind of hard now that I'm not as much in th[at] world, so I don't know exactly what's going on, but I try to be there for her as much as I can."

FROM THE INSIDE LOOKING OUT: Oscar Nuñez, who stars on NBC's "The Office," tells us he and his cast mates are gearing up to go back to work Feb. 9 to begin shooting the remainder of season five. He just wishes their lead guy, Steve Carell, had a nice little trophy to show off.

"All of us thought Steve Carell was going to win the Golden Globe, but it didn't turn out that way. It was still fun to go and hang out with everyone," says Nuñez, who plays Oscar Martinez on the hit show.

Luckily, Carell doesn't let those kinds of things go to his head, according to Oscar. "Steve is the same now as he was season one. Like everyone else, your car gets a little better, but he's basically the same fella. His priorities are work and family. When he's not working, he's with his family. When he's not with his family, he's working. That's basically Steve."

As for Nuñez, he says he was glad to get out of "The Office" for a short break and be a part of Sandra Bullock's upcoming flick, "The Proposal," which hits theatres this summer. "We shot it last July, but we're actually shooting a little bit of it this month as well. Ryan Reynolds, Craig T. Nelson and Betty White were also in the movie," he adds. "Part of the movie takes place in Alaska. I run the general store, I'm the justice of the peace, and just a person who pops up a lot of places. I got to do a few scenes with Sandy, so that was really cool because my niece and sister are crazy about her."

STILL CLOSE: "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" star Alfonso Ribeiro hasn't had the kind of stardom his former co-star Will Smith has had, but the actor tells us he couldn't be happier for his old pal. "I don't know if anyone can ever foresee someone becoming one of the biggest stars in the world, but he's a great talent and a wonderful person, so he deserves everything he's gotten," says Ribeiro of Smith. "He's the hardest working person I know."
