Who Picked Up Michael Sam? Gay Football Player Cut, What NFL Team Will Sign Him?
Has any NFL team picked up Michael Sam?
The first openly gay football player to be drafted in the National Football League has been cut by the St. Louis Rams in their final cuts for the 2014 season.
Who will now pick up the DE from Missouri?
Right now, Michael Sam is a total free agent and can sign with any team, according to Adam Schefter's Twitter account.
The NFL insider tweeted earlier:
"Michael Sam has not been told of any teams that claimed him on waivers. Appears he went unclaimed. Now free to sign with a practice squad."
Michael Sam took to his own Twitter account to thank the Rams organization for drafting him and giving him a chance to play in the National Football League.
"I want to thank the entire Rams organization and the city of St. Louis for giving me this tremendous opportunity and allowing me to show I can play at this level. I look forward to continuing to build on the progress I made here toward a long and successful career."
It seems now that Sam's best chances are to get back on with the Rams and their practice squad, but their defensive line is deep.
Will any team pick up Michael Sam?
