Celebrity Real Estate: Will, Jada Pinkett Smith Show Stunning California Home
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have proudly shown off their home, which was designed to "create an infinite cycle" of their love.
The Hollywood couple opened the doors of their California house, which they share with their three children, to Architectural Digest.
Designed by architect Stephen Samuelson, the Calabasas retreat covers 25,000sq ft and looks out onto a picturesque man-made lake.
Decorated with African, Middle Eastern and Indian art, it features a meditation room for the 39-year-old Hawthorne actress and a recording studio, where their 10-year-old daughter Willow recorded her hit single, Whip My Hair.
"The idea was no dead ends… to create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love," the 42-year-old Men In Black star says of the curved property, which he was inspired to create after filming the 1998 movie Enemy Of The State with Gene Hackman.
He adds: "Everything needed to be done by hand. We wanted to feel the love and labour that went into every piece of this place."
His actress-singer wife says: "For Will and me, this home was always a spiritual endeavour. We're very earthy, organic people.
"We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land."
She adds: "It's definitely a work in progress. Will and I were very young when we started the house, so it keeps on changing as we get older and understand how we really live in it.
"But whatever it becomes, the craftsmanship will always represent our union and the love of our family."
