Desperate Housewives fans were literally left hanging in last season's finale as Edie Brit was seen preparing to commit suicide, leading to widespread speculation that Nicollette Sheridan was being written out of the show. (Nicollette fueled the rumors when she said she was interested I pursuing horse farming.)

However, an ABC insider tells In Touch Weekly that Edie will survive to shake up Wisteria Lane. "Nicollette's not being killed off. In fact, she's already been on-set," the insider says.


"The show wouldn't be the same without her." But another main character may die before the fourth season ends. "Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross of Felicity Huffman is going to leave," says the insider. "I don't think anyone other than [show creator] Marc Cherry and the actress involved know for sure who it is." Now that's a cliffhanger.

"The writers love writing for Nicollette's character," says an insider. "She's the spice of the show."
