Do Zac Efron and his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens really have a red hot romance going on or is it all just an act for the cameras and the publicity for their films? Many fans have been quite skeptical (I'm not one of them) and have claimed that Zac doesn't even really even play for that team.

Each week it seems like some entertainment weekly has them breaking up, but faster than the magazine can hit newsstands they are out together holding hands looking like any young couple in love. Is it all for the buzz?


This week's Parade Magazine (yes the one that comes in the Sunday newspaper) has that question in Walter Scott's "Personality Parade" column where M.H.S. of Whitinsville, Mass asks, "Are High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens really dating?"

Scott answers, "Publicists at the Disney Channel would like every tween girl in America to think that Zac, 20, and Vanessa, 18, are having a hot and heavy romance. They have dated, but we’re skeptical about just how steamy it actually is. Such gossip may be meant to stoke interest in Disney’s popular High School Musical TV films, DVDs, live shows and upcoming movie."


I don't know - I think they are just a normal teen couple (well Zac is twenty now) that break up and make up as the moods swing.
